# Funding Your Wallet

## Your wallet, built into Agōn.

Agōn uses **Privy** to provide embedded, non-custodial wallets directly inside the app.

That means users can create and use an onchain wallet without downloading MetaMask, connecting an external wallet, or managing a seed phrase.

The wallet is created as part of the Agōn account experience, while the underlying wallet infrastructure, key management, authentication, and transaction signing are handled by Privy.

***

## How your wallet works

When you create an Agōn account, Privy provisions an embedded wallet associated with your user account.

The wallet is **non-custodial**. Neither Agōn nor Privy has access to a complete copy of your private key.

Privy's key-management system uses distributed key sharding. The key is only reconstructed in memory inside a secure Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) when a transaction needs to be signed and the user has authorized the action.

# Adding money to your wallet

Privy supports multiple ways to fund an embedded wallet, including **card payments, bank transfers, and crypto deposits**. Funding availability depends on the user's geography, currency, and the funding provider being used.

Agōn can integrate these funding rails directly into the wallet experience so that users don't need to leave the application to acquire the assets needed to trade.

Privy's funding infrastructure connects to providers including **Stripe, Bridge, Meld, and MoonPay**, giving applications access to different onramp methods and geographic coverage.

### Card

Users can purchase supported digital assets using a card through an integrated onramp.

### Bank transfer

Supported users can move funds into their wallet through bank-based funding rails.

### Crypto deposit

Users who already hold crypto can send supported assets directly to their Agōn wallet.

Privy supports universal deposit addresses across EVM chains, Solana, and additional networks.

# What happens when you buy an Index

Your wallet and your Index are two separate pieces of the system.

Your wallet holds your available balance.

Your Index position represents your exposure to an Agōn Index.

When you purchase an Index, Agōn initiates the required transaction from your wallet. You authorize the transaction, Privy handles the wallet signing, and the resulting transaction is broadcast onchain.

This means Agōn can provide a familiar **buy / sell** experience while the underlying ownership and transaction activity remain onchain.

# Authentication and transaction authorization

Privy connects wallet access to authentication.

A user must first authenticate with their Agōn account before Privy can authorize access to the embedded wallet. When a transaction is requested, Privy verifies the user's authorization before reconstructing the signing key inside its secure environment.

This separates two things that are normally bundled together in a traditional crypto wallet:

**Who you are**

Your Agōn account and authentication.

**What you own**

Your embedded onchain wallet and its assets.

# Transactions without the crypto friction

Privy supports transaction execution across **EVM chains, Solana, Bitcoin, and several other networks**, with both lower-level RPC interfaces and higher-level wallet actions.

For Agōn, this means the wallet layer can handle the technical requirements of:

* Signing transactions
* Sending assets
* Executing swaps
* Interacting with smart contracts
* Reading wallet balances
* Managing onchain positions

Users interact with Agōn's interface rather than having to manually construct blockchain transactions.

***

# Gas

Onchain transactions normally require network fees.

Privy supports native gas management across EVM and Solana and can also enable applications to sponsor gas for users. Users can alternatively pay gas using supported non-native assets such as USDC on applicable networks.

For Agōn, this creates the possibility of abstracting much of the underlying blockchain fee mechanics from the user experience.

The goal is simple:

**Users think about their Index. Agōn handles the transaction. Privy handles the wallet.**
